Pendleton Academy is a state licensed school with the Commonwealth of Virginia. A child must be participating in either the Pendleton Child Service Center Day Treatment or Residential Treatment programs to be enrolled in the Academy. Pendleton Academy works closely with the child’s home school and family to ensure the child is maintaining or improving his or her academic progress during their 12-16 weeks in the Pendleton Child Service Center program. Any child participating in additional services, such as an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) or speech therapy will continue to receive services while enrolled in Pendleton Academy.
Prior to the child's discharge from either the Day or Residential Treatment program, the Pendleton teacher, counselor, home school representatives and the parents meet to ensure that every opportunity is given to the child to continue with the success attained while at Pendleton Child Service Center.
