Some children struggle with the challenges of school, but seem to have more success in the home environment; others may have had difficult transitions in their lives making separation from caregivers frightening or anxiety provoking. These children may express their anxiety, frustrations or anger outside the home. PCSC Day Treatment Services is a short-term therapeutic program which addresses the child’s maladaptive behaviors outside of the home, while working with the family to help support the child’s changing behaviors. In addition to a highly structured academic environment, the program provides weekly individual, group and family therapy. Children are expected to complete all the academic work they would typically complete while in the Public School system. When the child returns to the home school in 12-16 weeks, he or she is on target with classmates academically.
To begin services a parent must complete a Pendleton Child Service Center referral packet and return the completed packet to the Center. Parents may print off the form and mail or fax it to the Center, or may send it via e-mail.
