(2) Official state DMV driving record(s) dated after November 1, 2014. Records from third party sources are not acceptable. Applicant must provide a driving record for each state in which you were issued a driver’s license in the past five years. Record(s) must provide a minimum of five years driving history. NOTE: Incomplete documentation will result in the removal of your application from the current review process.
APPLICANTS WILL BE ASKED TO:
(1) Sign a Waiver of Claim for Injury form
(2) Complete a Physical Ability Assessment. Wear athletic shoes and clothes. No open toe shoes or flip flops permitted.
Candidates who successfully complete the Physical Ability Assessment will move forward to the background investigation phase. Fire Human Resources will review applications, DMV driving records, references and state and federal background check results. Candidates will also undergo a polygraph exam.
Candidates with satisfactory background results will move to the final steps: a Safety Sensitivity Physical (at the City's expense), FBI fingerprinting and Child Protective Services registry check. Those deemed medically fit for duty who clear these final steps will be able to attend the Volunteer Support Technician Program.
