“Support Fire Fighters, Support Your Community,”
We are not accepting applications for Volunteer Support Technicians at this time. Please check back in early fall for updates!
WHAT THEY DO
Volunteer Support Technicians support firefighters with on-scene operations in the City of Virginia Beach. They man the Volunteer Support Trucks, one of which is shown above. After receiving training, they provide the required air, lighting and specialized equipment that are necessary to support firefighting. Support Techs also assist in hose packing, equipment placement, scene accountability, and other non-hazardous duties assigned by the Incident Commander.
