Company 20, also known as the Little Neck station, was completed in 1993 with its first call for service on March 30, 1993. Located at 885 Little Neck Road, from its inception Company 20 has had a close relationship with the community it serves since its location is nestled in the vicinity of homes, churches and running paths. The development of Company 20 was as a result of significant planning and effort provided by the citizens of the Kings Grant and Little Neck subdivisions working in concert with the Fire Department and city planners. When the station first came on line significant portions of the response area were not served by hydrants which required the placement of an Engine and a Tanker. Today, the station is equipped with a 2002 American LaFrance telesquirt.
Over the years, the personnel of Company 20 have continued the spirit of community that went into the planning of the Little Neck station with continued support to the community. This support has included participation in the annual “Clean the Bay Day” and awards for educational partnerships with the elementary schools in the area.
