Fire station 18 is located on Lynnhaven Parkway in the Green Run section of Virginia Beach. Station 18 is a single engine station that is the busiest running fire engine in the city! This is primarily due to the fire station being located in an area that has experienced extensive growth, both residential and commercial, over the past 30 years. The area is now one of the most densely populated areas of Virginia Beach.
The construction of the fire station took approximately two years to complete and it was first occupied for duty at six o’clock PM on December 19th, 1984. The station houses a crew of four, manning the 2006 American LaFrance fire engine, and the Battalion 3 Chief. Over time, the station has rightfully earned the nick name “The Bull Pen” for the tenacious and dedicated members of the Virginia Beach Fire Department that have been stationed here over the years.
