The Support Services Division's responsibilities include the following:
Human Resource, Orientation and Certification: with the assistance of the Human Resource Manager, this program certifies and recertifies annually the required number of qualified recruits and current personnel to enable the Operations Division to maintain proper staffing levels for rescue response.
Infection Control/ Compliance Program: All OSHA compliance and investigational issues, to include, but not limited to, exposures to EMS employees, volunteers and citizens.
EMS Medical Oversight/Enforcement Program: All CQI functions including the expansion of this program to address individual performance to ensure continuum of care issues as addressed in the ERS option 5 program presented to City Council.
Departmental Evaluation Program: With the assistance of the Public Safety Analyst office and the integration of the CQI Coordinator's office, this program will develop and evaluate departmental and individual organization and performance indicators.
Medical Care Liaison Program: Representative for all hospital committees and the Commonwealth's CQI committee. To establish and conduct programs that maintain a cooperative relationship that are engaged in the direct and indirect provision of EMS to promote understanding, share ideas and establish working arrangements in EMS delivery to enhance patient care and safety.
EMS Medical Oversight/Enforcement: Coordinating officer for all patient care incidents and Departmental representative to the Medical Director.
Research and Development Program: As the chief coordinating agent, will assist the CQI office and Public Safety Analyst office to coordinate research and evaluation regardless of division. To explore new ideas and technologies in emergency medical and rescue provision by conducting yearly pilot projects to enhance patient care and provider safety.

Office of Continuous Quality Improvement:

Captain Christi Budy is the Continuous Quality Improvement Officer. The objective of the Medical Continuous Quality Assurance program is to assure that Continuous Quality Assurance is conducted annually to review the process, structure, and outcome criteria to prospectively, concurrently, and retrospectively assess the resolution of Quality Assurance activities that impact patient care. The strategy of this office is to promote, coordinate and monitor the continuous quality assurance program that involves the provision of medical care, to maximize the quality of care by BLS/ALS personnel to ensure that the standard of care is maintained and community safety is preserved.
Office of the Support Services : Is specialty team comprised of volunteer members who assist the department with administrative functions. These functions can vary from transferring emergency vehicles to different locations to assisting the Division Chief on administrative matter in the Headquarters office. Office of Volunteer Scheduling Coordination:

This office is supervised by Brigade Chief Linda Finch. This office assists Squad Commanders and the Administrative Division in the management of volunteer personnel to staffing ambulances.
