The Project Grant program for arts organizations is designed to award financial support for specific endeavors that fall outside of an organization's ordinary activities, but that contribute to the growth of the organization. Applicants may apply for only one project grant in any grant period.
These grants are supported by taxpayer revenues in an annual appropriation from City Council. A small portion of the funds available for grants may be supported by a grant from the Virginia Commission for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts.
