The City of Virginia Beach Office of Cultural Affairs uses the power of the arts to transform lives by building community and providing programs and services to create an environment that encourages excellence in the arts.
It provides support to Virginia Beach artists and arts organizations through a competitive grants process, administered by the Arts and Humanities Commission, that allocates technical support and funding for special projects and organizational development.

3. How do I get involved in the arts in Virginia Beach?
All arts groups use volunteers to support their art: for administration, ushering, technical assistance, boards of directors, as actors and directors, marketing and more. Get in touch with them directly to inquire about being a volunteer. The Virginia Beach Arts and Humanities Commission is also made up of Virginia Beach citizens interested in advocacy for the arts.
4. How do I apply for funding from the Arts and Humanities Commission?
The Arts and Humanities Commission administers two grants for Virginia Beach arts and culture organizations: a Leadership and Organizational Development Grant and a Project Grant.
