Virginia Beach Television (VBTV) is managed by Multimedia Services, a division of the Department of Communications and Information Technology (ComIT). VBTV operates three government and education cable television channels. Cox channel 46; Verizon channel 46: a 24/7 channel designed to keep citizens informed about what's happening in Virginia Beach by displaying current news from official city and school sources, details of upcoming public meetings and events, and short public service videos. The audio source (when a video is not playing) is NOAA weather radio, which provides up-to-the-minute weather reports and advisories direct from the National Weather Service.
Cox channel 47; Verizon channel 47: brings you the Virginia Beach City Public School Board meetings, both live and recablecasts, GED and continuing education series, Classic Arts programming and "Frontline Firefighter."
