Human Rights Commission Hosts 20th Annual Human Rights Awards
The City of Virginia Beach is looking to honor, celebrate and support human rights in Virginia. Nominate a worthy individual or group by Feb. 10.
Since 1993, the Human Rights Commission has presented Human Rights Awards to honor both individuals and groups who have demonstrated a commitment to the promotion of respect and understanding among people of diverse racial, ethnic and religious backgrounds.
The commission is currently seeking nominations for deserving groups or individuals. It might be a teacher, a church, a volunteer or community leader — any person or organization with a personal commitment to the promotion of respect that creates an inclusive community for everyone.
Shine a light on their contributions —
the deadline for nomination is Monday, Feb. 10 at 5 p.m. Award nomination forms are available at www.VBgov.com/hrc
