The Department of Communications and Information Technology (ComIT) provides

and supports communications, information, and technology solutions to enable city businesses, inform the community, improve and promote quality of life and public safety.

ComIT Divisions & Areas of Responsibility:

Applications Support - Analyzes, develops, tests, integrates, manages, and supports organizational mission critical systems.
Business Center and Mail Services - Responsible for departmental purchasing, human resources, payroll, reception, central support, billing, and mail delivery.
Center for Geo-spatial Information Services - provides geo-spatial database warehousing, web-based distribution services, data maintenance, importing/exporting, analyses, reporting, and monthly Geo-file loads.
City/School Printing Services - Provides printing distribution services. The services include delivery, reprographics, bindery, forms management, outsourced printing, and copier contract administration.
Multimedia Services - Creates municipal government and public school informational, promotional, instructional, and emergency programming. The media modes are VBTV 46, 47 & 48 (Cox Cable) and 45, 46 & 47 (Verizon Cable), videotape, microwave, satellite, and multimedia.
Systems Support - Provides organizational computer and server engineering, maintenance, repair, and support services.
Telecommunications - Provides telephone, radio and network maintenance, support, contract administration, cable management, billing, dial tone provision, service coordination, and configuration changes.
Technology Services - Provides technology project portfolio management, customer support, information security and privacy, and account management services.
