If you are a Disabled Veteran, your Personal Property Tax may be reduced. This reduced rate is available to taxpayers qualified under provisions of Code of Virginia, Title 58.1.3506 et. seq., and Virginia Beach City Ordinance #3232E. These provisions are as follows:
- A veteran who has either lost the use of one or both legs, or an arm or a hand, or who is blind, or who is permanently and totally disabled and that the disability is service-connect as certified by the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Each qualified veteran will receive a reduced tax rate of $1.50 per hundred dollars of assessed value on one vehicle owned or leased and regularly used by the veteran.
