Agenda information may be requested from the city clerk. A citizen who wishes to address the council concerning an agenda item must register with the city clerk or deputy city clerk at 385-4303 prior to the meeting.
To address the council concerning an item not on the agenda, a request must be made in writing to the Office of the City Clerk, 2401 Courthouse Drive, City Hall Building #1, Room 281, Municipal Center, Virginia Beach, VA 23456. A member of the council may sponsor a citizen to address council on any item.
No more than one presentation per topic or per individual may be made at the same meeting without the specific permission of the council.
Speakers should advance to the podium when their names are called, state their name(s) and address(es) and indicate who they are representing.
Presentations should be limited to three minutes. After completing remarks, the speaker should be prepared to respond to any questions the council may have.
