The Parks and Recreation Commission shall serve as a liaison between City Council, the City Manager, the Director of Parks and Recreation therewith, and citizens of the City of Virginia Beach.
The Commission shall consult with and advise the City Manager, the Director and City Council in matters affecting open space, parks and recreation policies, programs, finances, and the acquisition and disposal of lands and properties related to the total community and open space, parks and recreation programs, and to its long-range projected program for open space and parks and recreation.
