Virginia Beach will host the first Virginia Green Conference & Green Travel Star Awards Celebration Dec. 3-4 at the Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center.
Alisa Bailey, former president of the Virginia Tourism Corporation and
current director of tourism for Charleston, W.Va., will deliver a
keynote address. Virginia Green Coordinator Tom Griffin will present
“The State of Virginia Green” report, and a regional tourism panel
featuring James Ricketts, director of the Virginia Beach Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB), will discuss the importance of branding green tourism to consumers at the regional and local level.
This two-day event will include educational
workshops, dynamic speakers, a Virginia Green Market Expo, an opening
reception, an awards luncheon and a volunteer clean-up project.
Technical workshops will be offered in areas such as composting, energy
efficiency, marketing and branding, green conferences and festivals,
green suppliers and products, and more.
