2012 Fair Trade Festival at Seatack Elementary

For the first time since its 11-year history, the Fair
Trade Festival will be moving from Norfolk to Virginia Beach. This year, the
Seatack Elementary School Go Green Club is hosting the Festival, which offers free parking and admission.
With approximately 25 vendors specializing in Fair Trade
products, shoppers can be assured that all products come from fair wage and
fair labor conditions. Local businesses with Fair Trade products and crafts
will be available for a guilt free shopping experience. Norfolk and Virginia Beach Freecycle will be
working together to bring a table of free items for anyone (so if you have a
gently used item at home you’d like to swap, please bring it!). Local musicians
and belly dancers will entertain shoppers throughout the day.
There will be raffle drawings to
raise money for the Go Green Club. Many of the vendors have donated products
for the raffle including recycled and Fair Trade items. Project Green Teens will be wrapping gifts to
raise money for a collaborative project with the Go Green Club. They will be
happy to take any gift wrap or gift bags that you are not planning to use.
