Sensible Seafood Fest

Whole Foods Market, Virginia Beach, presents Barton Seaver who will address, "The Communion of the Commons: Living in the Chesapeake Bay Watershed" on May 19 at 1 p.m. in the Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center 3D Theater. A reception and book signing will be held afterwards from 2 – 4 p.m.
Seaver, a National Geographic Fellow recognized for his
leadership in ocean sustainability, will share his global experiences to
connect people, cultures, and ecosystems through food. His overall
mission is to restore people’s relationship with the planet through
dinner. “It’s about giving fish their proper place of respect on the
plate,” stated Seaver. He is a chef and author as well as the newly
appointed director of Harvard’s Healthy and Sustainable Food Program.
His books, “For Cod and Country” and, newly released, “Where There’s Smoke,” will be available for purchase and signing.
