eMapping Advanced Maps Plug-in Download

The basic eMapping application does not require a plug-in to be installed.

Only the advanced eMapping application requires the end-user to download and install the Autodesk Mapguide Viewer. This simple browser plug-in allows the user to access, view, and interact with the advanced eMapping application.

While the basic eMapping application provides simple and quick response to general requests, the advanced eMapping application provides increased functionality and a more robust toolset to select, view and interact with the city map layers. Frequent users of the City's geospatial information are strongly encouraged to download and install the eMapping plug-in.

The benefits of downloading the plug-in are,

• More functions and more tools allow the user to get the precise information on the feature or features desired, in a more direct fashion.
• Increased efficiency as the plug-in interacts with the mapping server to deliver streamlined information with faster response and decreased bandwidth.
• The plug-in carries no monitoring information or other "spy-ware". It allows the client computer to query the server more intelligently, without the need for extra data transfer or negotiation.

eMapping has identified the current browser in use as Netscape/Mozilla/Firefox.
