The Commissioner of Revenue’s Offices assess all local taxes except for real estate tax. Tax rates are set by City Council, vary by industry type, and are classified accordingly.

When a new business applies for a license with the Commissioner's office, an application is completed for any other applicable tangible property or trustee taxes. All organizations must register with the Commissioner's office, however, some manufacturing, farms, and non-profit entities may qualify as tax exempt.
